EU Parliamentary elections will be held in all member countries from 23 to 26 May 2019. Since all members of the Union Parliament are elected by universal suffrage, this democracy-based organization represents the entire European community. But this representative organization is currently eclipsed. Opponents such as those who reject European hegemony are responsible for this, as well as some of the original European countries that are not very interested in furthering the dream of the Union.

A total of 705 members will be elected in the forthcoming EU elections. These members are divided into a total of eight different policy groups in Parliament, where the citizenship of the member is not a priority, while there are a number of differences of opinion ranging from left-wing ideology to right-wing ideology. Each member country is represented in this organization in proportion to its population. Germany, for example, has the largest population at 96, while Luxembourg or Malta has six.

According to the predictions that will change the picture due to the elections, will the alliance between the Left and the Right in the Union Parliament till today continue? As much as this is a question, there is no answer as to whether it will lead to any positive change. On the other hand, will the parties with anti-European ideology put aside their differences and form an alliance? This is another important question. If that happened then it would change the very nature of the European Parliament. There is also speculation that French President Macron's LREM party, in alliance with the Liberals and Democrats, will elect as many representatives as possible and thus become the masterminds of power.

It is now clear that the newly elected EU Parliament will be different from the current one. This is because the alliance of anti-European ideologies will affect the functioning of Parliament. So will the old-new relationship give a new lease of life to the union's objectives? There is skepticism about this. Of course, if the anti-European parties are to create a pressure group to maintain their role, the original purpose of the Union will be thwarted. Although all these parties stand on different political ideologies, their common policy is the same, that the scope of the European Union should not be further expanded. According to him, this organization is just another form of bureaucracy.

According to ECFR estimates released last month, about 70% of voters in Europe who are eager to vote in this election do not seem to know who to vote for. Similarly, this election does not revolve around a single issue. Because there are so many issues that affect voters today. The rise of radical nationalism, the downturn in the economy, global climate change and migration are some of the issues currently being discussed.

Three-quarters of the society in Europe feels that the system of Europe is broken, not the system of their country. So two-thirds of people think their children's lives are going to be harder than theirs. Today, European countries have to work hard to get their citizens out of this climate of fear. Therefore, keeping the European Union at bay and overcoming the fears of all, promoting a united Europe is a daunting task for all member states.

Is the European Union poached from within? Such confusion is widespread now. This is because the report released on the backdrop of the elections says that two different sides have come forward regarding the functioning of the organization, but there are two sides among the voters. The party that considers the work of the European Parliament satisfactory is the supporter of the current functioning of the Union, while the other party, which expects change, insists on a radical change in the entire functioning of the Union. It is now very clear that the established parties in the mainstream used to side with the prevailing practices. But for the good of Europe, it is now important for these parties to give up their dreams of supremacy and openly welcome new changes.

The political parties of the nationalist ideology in Europe have already recognized this direction of the wind and will appear to have changed their roles accordingly. An example of this is that the National Assembly in France, as well as the League parties in Italy and the Faister agitators, have now abandoned their old role of expelling their countries from the union. Not only that, but now the euro has taken a firm stand that the currency should be reintroduced. Of course this is a positive change. In the same way, the pro-European parties need to change their position according to the current situation, but now it is difficult for them to take a different role.

The changes taking place in the European Union are certainly an important step towards realizing the dream of a united Europe that has never been realized. That is why all the young and old citizens of Europe today hope that this new structure of the European Union will be able to respond positively to everyone's concerns and fears.

The predictions of the election results underscore one thing: two shores stand out among European voters. One side believes it is satisfied with the current state of the European Union, while the other side insists on a radical change.

There are also contradictions in the current wave of opposition to European domination. Some say that the EU is currently trying to interfere in everything in the member states, while others say that the EU is not yet strong enough. So will the new European Parliament come up with some innovative and positive policies to determine the scope of the EU? And can this parliament restore Europe's sovereignty? Such questions have come up. At present, however, Europe is on the sidelines of world politics and is facing setbacks from the outside.

Last July, US President Donald Trump said the European Union was an enemy. Russian President Vladimir Putin is also a staunch opponent of the strong European Union. China, meanwhile, has undermined the unity of the union by expanding its network of road projects to member countries. From which the democratic values of Europe are well shaken. What are the stances of these pro-monopoly leaders and countries trying to attack the European Union? They don't want democracy in Europe, they don't want the rule of law, they don't want individual freedom, they don't want cultural and structural integration, they don't want the tendency to take care of nature and environment?

Hopefully, the current wave of populism in Europe will soon subside and the European Parliament will not be hit. But that is not enough. The scope of the union is expected to expand further in 2019. Europe has one market, one currency, one system, so why shouldn't everyone have the same democratic government? If the dream of the European Union is not to be let go, there is a great need to give more power to the Union Parliament. This dream is going to come true only with the suffrage of European citizens. Of course, the future of the European Union will be decided only after May 26. The future direction of the union will depend on that.
